About

This is the website of the North West branch of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals’ (CILIP’s) Youth Libraries Group (YLG). Operated by a team of enthusiastic volunteers the group aims to provide inspiration, support and training on a variety of aspects of youth librarianship, in addition to networking opportunities for current and aspiring professionals based in the North West.

The group is also involved in the nominations process for the prestigious CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals and has a regional representative forming part of the judging panel each year. For more information on CILIP’s Youth Libraries Group please visit the CILIP website.

The purpose of this blog is to provide a central hub of information about YLG North West and our activities as well as providing a space in which to share best practice. Our members frequently review books and share personal recommendations.

We’d love to hear from you so please do leave a reply to posts.
